Tatler CSP: Blog Task.

1) Look at the Tatler Media Pack. Go to page 2: How does the editor introduce the magazine?

The editor start of by talking about how positive the magazine company is as if there is only there magazine availabe

2) Now go to page 4 of the Media Pack. Focus on the print magazine (NOT tatler.com - the website). List the key demographic details: age, gender %, ABC1 % (social class), HHI (Household Income), % of those living in London and the South East. What do these demographic details suggest about the average Tatler reader?

This magazine was mainly focused for female audience and was more for a older age group whith avaerage hhi

3) Look at page 6. What do Tatler readers think about fashion? How much do they spend?

They have spemd 843000 pounds the last year and show all the peoples positive reviews and how they like fashion.

4) Go to page 10. What are the special editions of Tatler that run throughout the year? What does this suggest about the Tatler audience? What about the pyschographic audience group that best fits Tatler?

They had mazines about annual guides and supplements whith loads of famous people who were knows on their front page


Media Language

1) What different examples of typography can you find on the cover of Tatler? What are the connotations of the serif and sans serif fonts?

For their title they use a more of a serif text more of a modern writing and for their headline they use sans serif which is the normal writing text

2) How do the cover lines appeal to the Tatler target audience?

The black colour stands out from the white dress which is juxtaposing

3) What are the connotations of the Tatler colour scheme on this particular front cover?

There are loads of bright fun colours which show mixed happy emotions

4) How is the central image designed to create interest in the magazine? Find three reasons for your answer. (E.g. the model, the mise-en-scene such as props, costume and make-up, body position, facial expression etc.)

The model could be a famous well knows person and it was a big object in the middle which attracts audience


Representations

1) What celebrities or famous people are mentioned on the cover? Why do you think Tatler put them on the cover?

Emma weymouth who is related whith the royal family which she could gain more poeple to buy the magazine as she is a well knows person 

2) What do the cover lines suggest about the lifestyle of rich people in the UK?

There was maybe a huge amout of people who recieve the minimum HHI which then considers them as a missle class citizen

3) Looking at the image and cover lines together, what different groups of people are represented on the cover and how are they represented? (E.g. men/women/rich people/race & ethnicity etc.) 

Well in the cover image Emma weymouth who is part of the royal family is shown but then on the cover lines it talks about borris joghson and his brother max

4) Are there any stereotypes being reinforced or subverted? How? Why?

A subverted stereotype could be that this magazine was mainly aimed for female or middle class people


Social and cultural contexts

1) What types of people are NOT featured in Tatler? (Watch the clip above again if you need help with this - the clue is in the title 'Posh People')

Well the people who are posh and have a more of a smaller mindest would make  the tatler company gain audince could want to be more intrested in this magazine

2) Tatler runs special issues on holidays, spa breaks, cosmetic surgery, watches and jewellery and private schools. What does this suggest about the magazine's representation of life in Britain? 

They want rich or people who gain money alot to be intrested in their magazines as all the items they run for sale are expensive items

3) What audience groups might be offended or insulted by the front cover of Tatler? 

Gender wise men could be insulted as this magazine was only meant to be for female audience and the fact they sell esxpensive items such as watches and jewellery could show they want their audince to be more of a middle class person who gains minumum HHI and wages

4) Find three other front covers for Tatler from different months. What issues, subjects or people are regularly featured in Tatler?


All these three magazine cover shows white people and so does most of their other audience covers which could be an insult towards other race and all the covers only inlude females which makes the male audince left out or not wanting to buy it and all these images include famous people who were or are well known
